Education and Social Development

In order to implement the priority areas of scientific research activity, develop scientific personnel, and ensure the effective introduction of scientific and technological development results into the country’s economy, the Center for “Education Sciences and Social Development” was established under the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Order No. 4-P dated May 5, 2023).

This Center serves as the working body of the Department of “Education Sciences and Social Development” and provides scientific coordination, expert review, and analytical support in the social and humanitarian field.

 Mission and Objectives of the Center

Mission of the Center

The mission of the Center is to promote the integration of scientific research and innovation in the fields of education and social development, to coordinate scientific work in priority areas, and to enhance their significance for the socio-economic development of Kazakhstan.

Main Objectives

- Coordination of priority and specialized scientific research;

-  Implementation of scientific results and scientific-technical solutions into practical activities to ensure sustainable development and modernization of the economy;

- Development of innovative and scientific infrastructure in cooperation with international and domestic partners;

- Strengthening links between science, educational organizations, the production sector, and the business community;

- Preparation of scientific expertise, analytical materials, and recommendations in the field of social and humanitarian sciences;

- Formation of mechanisms for the implementation of scientific results into educational practice and social processes;

- Development of cooperation between scientific organizations, universities, and research centers;

- Support for young scientists and assistance in training scientific personnel;

- Expansion of international scientific cooperation.

Main Areas of Activity of the Center

- Support for research in the theory and methodology of education, pedagogy, and psychology;

- Conducting analytical research in sociology, political science, philosophy, and cultural studies;

- Coordination of scientific projects in history, ethnology, linguistics, and literary studies;

- Study of social development, social policy, and human capital issues;

- Research on the transformation of education and society in the context of digitalization;

- Scientific work on inclusive education and social equity issues;

- Foresight studies, monitoring, and evaluation research;

- Scientific expert and analytical activities.
